‘Work shouldn’t hurt’: Resources for MSD prevention

Waterloo, Ontario — The University of Waterloo’s Centre of Research Expertise for the Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders recently released three collections of resources focused on preventing MSDs.

The MSD Prevention Guidelines for Ontario are part of the center’s Work Shouldn’t Hurt campaign. Each collection features a risk assessment tool, fact sheets, FAQs, posters and case studies intended to help identify and eliminate common workplace MSD hazards.

The Quick Start guide is available in a general version and a version for office workers. It’s designed for employers who are new to MSD prevention, including small and micro-sized businesses.

The Basic version was created for medium- to large-sized employers who have an established health and safety program and want to improve their problem-solving approach toward on-the-job MSD prevention.

Medium- to large-sized employers aiming to improve their management approach to MSDs at an organizational level can find assistance in the Comprehensive resource collection

All versions feature a 10-step road map.
